The Australian Society for Asian Humanities has organised a Zoom panel and Q&A to discuss career prospects for students of Asian languages.

The event will take place on 2 September 2021 at  6pm (AEST). Details on how to enrol for this online event can be found here.

This panel will demonstrate how Asian language training is useful and relevant across a wide variety of professions, from government to journalism.

We will explore the professional opportunities available to Asian language majors, then hear from graduates on how their Asian language major shaped their career paths. Afterwards, there will be a Q&A session with the speakers.

Panellists:

  • Louise Edwards, Emeritus Professor, UNSW
  • Primrose Riordan, South China Correspondent, Financial Times, Hong Kong
  • Greg Ralph, Minister-Counsellor Political, Australian Embassy Tokyo
