Interpreters play an important role in assisting intercultural communities to communicate, thus furthering an economic, political, and humanitarian agenda, and assisting people to access the same opportunities when seeking justice.
This research seeks to ascertain the state of legal interpreting in Indonesia. It will discuss how legal interpreters enter the profession, what training, tests, and qualifications they need to complete before entering the profession, and what professional regulations they must follow while working as interpreters in the field, and more importantly, what improvements need to be made and how to do so.
